New Year, New Promises.

Happy New Year, everyone! My indefinite blogging hiatus is finally over. I was supposed to take a break until the end of the month because I’ve been busy with a lot of things lately. I’ve got BIG, BIG plans for 2013! How about you?

Before it’s too late, I’d like to immortalize my new year’s resolutions (NYR) by sharing them to the world here. They say that old habits never die but I think that I can counter that old saying this year. For some reason, I’ve been feeling pretty confident and inspired since I got back from Bangkok.

1) STOP Nail Biting

Sadly, I’ve been a slave to this bad habit since I was a little girl. My parents even flick my when I start doing so. This has been part of my NYR annually but I think I’ve made progress as early as now~

Tadah! I keep applying colorful Etude House Nail Polish & ORLY top coat daily so that I won’t nibble on them. It’s the first time that I’ve ever had *semi-long* nails. Teehee.

Bright and neon nail polish also keeps me from scratching them off. During my Guam trip, I found a nice US nail polish brand called NCLA Nails that doesn’t chip off easily. Luckily, these are available at a local online shop, POLISH PLEASE! You can order through or

2) Travel, travel and travel!

Did you know, you’re not allowed to travel when your passport runs out of pages for stamps? This almost happened to me last month when I left for Bangkok. Good thing I still had an empty page for immigration!

If there’s one thing that can get my mind off ANYTHING, it’s traveling. I don’t care whether I go to some boring island, uncivilized place or crappy town, I always find myself enjoying new sights and making the most out of every trip I’ve ever had. So this year, I want to travel EVEN MORE than the past years. I still have no idea where I want to fly off to next but I sure hope it’s a new country!

Believe it or not, I’ve NEVER traveled alone or with friends yet so I hope I can cross that out from my bucket list this year.

3) Change my Lifestyle

Although some readers may think that I look “fit” because of my photos, I have to confess.. I’m a master at angling and I know the right clothes to wear to make me look slim. But seriously, I’ve gained so much weight since blogging became a full-time thing for me. Events, parties, buffets and galas left and right, oh my!! I used to be boyish and sporty back in high school but now I’m a sloth! :(

This year, I’m going to go back to playing badminton at least once a week and I even enrolled myself to BEYOND YOGA. They’re popular for their anti-gravity yoga (AGY) classes since they’ve been featured in magazines and TV shows numerous times and the oh-so-famous movie, A Secret Affair. (photo above)

I had a trial session last December and it was so fun!! I tried their Beyond Sculpt class which is more on dancing; somewhat like aerobics but 100x much more fun. I struggled a bit with their AGY class because it was my first time ever to try something like that and I’m sooo out of shape. It’s no wonder I don’t look as glamorous as Anne Curtis during yoga. :)) I hope I’ll get the hang of it *literally* on my next try!

Beyond Yoga has 2 branches: Il Terazo in Quezon City and BHS Central. You can check out their class schedule at their Facebook Page or in their WEBSITE.

4) Expand Catwalk Cosmetics

It’s been a childhood dream of mine to open up a cute store but I’ve never really had the guts to do so. I’m afraid of failure, loss and taking big risks. But you know what they say, if you want something big in return, you’ve got to take big risks too. So this year, I’ll be working on this dream. It’s actually the main reason why I’ve been absent online the past few weeks. I’ll reveal soon enough what Ive been working on. ;)

5) Forgive, Forget and Move on.

If you follow me on Twitter, you already know that I’ve been struggling with something for about 2 years now. And it’s finally come to an end… A bitter ending to be more exact. But despite all the bad things that I’ve come across, life has to go on; I have to move on. It’s too long to type up here so I’ll elaborate it in a different, solo-entry soon. For now, I wish that I’ll find it in my heart to forgive the people who have hurt me in the past year, forget all the bad things that have happened and move on to a better 2013.

God is good and I’m sure he has better plans for me.. For all of us. Even if I’m super late, I’d like to say: Have a happy and blessed new year, everyone! Thank you for reading The Traveling Heels. I promise, there will be more quirky, exciting and juicy topics in my blog this year. :)
